F. A. Q.'s
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Q. Can the clip come free from a fish?
A. The clip coming free from a fish is highly unlikely, but
can happen when the clip is not attached at a 45 degree angle
and/or
not pushed all the way in to the lip stop far enough
(Where the small pocket is located under the jaw).
In addition, as you know, a "feisty" fish can slam
itself against the wall of the livewell pretty hard.
Should this happen at just the wrong angle it is
possible that it will free itself from the clip.
Although we understand that this is not ideal, it is a rare yet unavoidable reality.
2. Q. Are the clips breakable?
A. We literally manufacture and sell millions of these clips from our facility. The Quality Control Report is 100% for this clip. This does not however translate to the clip being "unbreakable". Again, a powerful slam against the wall of your livewell may in rare instances break a clip. (Replacement clips are available)
We have also had reports of anglers stepping on them or dogs chewing on them! : )
3. Q. Is the NEW Quik-Way weight recording board
sold separately?
A. YES!! For our many customers who purchased a Quik-Cull Culling
System before we offered our NEW board we will be offering the
Quik-Way for $7.95 plus $2.25 s/h = $10.20.
Please Note: This offer is for a LIMITED TIME ONLY!
Sorry, This offer has expired as of May 6th, 2003.
4. Q. Can the grip weaken on the clip?
A. In two years we have had only one isolated case where the system
was (admittedly) used excessively and the more frequently used
clips weakened slightly. In this rare event, replacement ropes/
clips are available or you may want to order a brand new set!
5. Q. Can I lift the fish by the rope out of the livewell?
A. Yes & No. Although we have seen it done, we do not recommend this. A "feisty" fish can shake itself off. We encourage anglers to lift the fish to the surface of the livewell by using the floating rope, but to then be "fish-friendly" and
LIP BY HAND! Especially when lifting that very active prize Smallmouth!
6. Q. The ropes do not stretch, do they?
A. No. The ropes are made of 100% recyclable polypropylene.
They will easily float in your livewell and unlike other culling systems whose ropes stretch, these ropes will not snap back at you like a rubber band! OUCH!
7.
Q.
I use
the Cul-M-Rite™
scale.
Do your ropes
correspond with the colors in that scale?
A. YES!! When you purchase the TEAM SET! As of May 6th, 2003, in the SINGLE SET of six ropes, the ropes are RED, GREEN, BLUE, YELLOW, ORANGE and PURPLE. The two additional colors in our TEAM SET of eight ropes are WHITE and BROWN.
8. Q. What other measures can I take to keep the fish I
catch healthy while tournament fishing?
A. All anglers really should have a copy of "Keeping Bass Alive"
A Guidebook for Anglers and Tournament Organizers by: Gene Gilliland & Hal Schramm.
It is an excellent and valuable resource. Copies of this book can be ordered by contacting:
